Zambales gets P50M worth of hospital equipment

ZAMBALES: The provincial government of Zambales received P50 million worth of medical equipment from a Japan-based company.

The equipment included a computed tomography (CT) scan machine, an ultrasound imager, and an X-ray system, among others.

“The machines we’ve been waiting for are now here. We will install and test the equipment in the next few days, inaugurate them at the end of this month, and after that they will be available for the use of needy patients in our province,” said Zambales [...]

IBA, Zambales — The Provincial Government of Zambales will now be exporting Pinatubo sand, which had made the lives of residents here miserable for the past two decades as it brought floods especially during rainy season.

CANDELARIA, Zambales: A young and sick female whale that stranded off Potipot Island in Candelaria Zambales has died.

Local fishermen comfort a young female whale after it was stranded at Potipot Island in Candelaria Zambales Saturday (October 8). The young whale died the next day due to viral infection.

Caretakers of Potipot Island first saw the whale around 1 pm Saturday. They tried to drive the animal away to deeper waters, but it refused to go.

SUBIC, Zamblaes: In 1991 after Mt. Pinatubo erupted and displaced many residents in the province of Zambales including thousands of aetas living near the volcano, a tribal chieftain ask a nun for help, but it was not for food, housing or money.

Tatang Bagoong, an aeta chieftain asked Sr.Mary Francis Borje, a nun based in the province if she can teach them to read and write. Sr. Borje explained that she was surprised with the request.

Zambales Agriculture Office release 432,000 tilapia fingerling

IBA, Zambales: The Zambales Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO) released some 432,000 tilapia fingerlings to various municipalities in the province.

Dr. Rene Mendoza, who heads the PAO, and fisheries division chief Reynaldo Reologio with Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane Jr., distributed the fingerlings to municipal agriculturists.

Ebdane gave the order to disperse tilapia fingerlings after noting the dwindling fish stocks in communal rivers and lakes in the province.
