Magsaysay ends 30 years of drought for thousands of residents

Some 1,000 families living in the ridge of barangay Kalaklan and Barretto finally got running water after 30 years of neglect.

Barangay Barretto Chairman Carlitos Baloy said that they have exerted all efforts in the past to convince the city government and Subicwater to provide permanent water supply for the families in the area but to no avail.

Political bigwigs gathered during the birthday bash of both Zambales 1st district Mitos Magsaysay and father in law Vicente Magsaysay who is running for mayor of the Olongapo city.

Thousands of residents and supporters of the two Magsaysay filled the covered court of the Olongapo City National High School during the celebration.

Magsaysay gets 59% of votes in subictimes.com online poll

Olongapo City mayoralty bet Vicente Magsaysay topped the online poll conducted by subictimes.com getting 71,269 or 59% of the total votes cast.

The online poll which was supposed to be closed on January 5 ended up closing earlier (January 02, 2010) after votes exceeded the 120,000 maximum number of votes allowed. The maximum vote cut-off was set to represent the potential voting population of the city.
