SUBIC BAY freeport: Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairman Roberto Garcia clarified reports stating that a new man has been appointed as SBMA administrator.

“The news release that was printed has caused confusion here, our employees are asking, our locators are also asking for clarifications,” Garcia said.

The issue stemmed from reports printed out I major dailies saying Businessman Mike Macapagal was appointed as SBMA Administrator.

Reports said that Macapagal’s appointment was signed on January 30 and its affectivity date is February 27.

100 Abucay residents benefit from DOLE assistance

ABUCAY, Bataan: Around 100 residents of Abucay, Bataan are set to benefit from the latest livelihood assistance given by the Department of Labor and Employment’s Kabuhayan Starter Kits project.

DOLE Central Luzon chief Leopoldo De Jesus personally handed a check amounting P300,000 to Abucay Mayor Ana Santiago for the implementation of the said aid during the celebration of the town’s 424th anniversary.

Turtles release of the coast of Morong

Morong, Bataan: Government authorities together with volunteers released 180 baby turtles off the coast of barangay Nagbayayong this week.

The release formed part of the annual Pawikan Festival in Morong, Bataan.

Deputy Presidential Spokesman Lorelei Fajardo joined local officials, volunteers and residents in releasing the baby turtles.

The baby turtles came from the Bataan Pawikan Conservation Center (BPCC).

The 24 member Bantay Pawikan volunteers headed by Maolo Lbias said that the turtles belong to the Olive Ridley species.
