Anne Gordon appointed as SBMA board

OLONGAPO City: Former Zambales vice governor Anne Marie Gordon was appointed as a member of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority Board of Director, reports said yesterday.

Several online news reports quoted Deputy Spokesperson Abigail Valte that Gordon will replace Teodoro del Rosario.

She is the wife of Olongapo City Major James Gordon, Jr.

Gordon will represent the city in the SBMA board.

CANDELARIA, Zambales – More than 200,000 Zambales residents are expected to join the special poll today for the election of a representative of the second district of this coastal province in Central Luzon.

Subic to become iron ore transshipment hub

SUBIC Bay Freeport: Brazilian company Vale Shipping Holding (VSH) is set to make Subic Freeport the biggest transshipment hub of iron ore in the country.

This after one of the biggest Floating Terminal Station (FTS) docked here Monday, according to Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority Chairman Roberto Garcia.

Garcia said Ore Fabrica (FTS) had already docked in Subic bay and will be operational in the middle of February.

IBA Zambales: Three major projects were inaugurated here this week as part of the development program of the provincial government.

Governor Jun Ebdane inaugurated the rehabilitated segment of Carael National Highway in the town of Botolan, which was damage heavily during the past rainy season.

According to Governor Jun Ebdane, the rehabilitation works, which connects the northern and southern parts of the province, worth P50 million.

Ebdane also inaugurated P50 million worth of medical equipments at Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital.

SBMA salary hike approved; implementation pending

SUBIC BAY Freeport: The salary hike for the workers of Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) has already been approved, but its implementation was suspended pending the approval of President Benigno Aquino III.

SBMA Chairman Roberto Garcia issued the statement after www.philstar.com sought clarification on the issue after several SBMA workers complained of the much-delayed implementation of salary hike.

Resort owners attempt ‘drown-free’ Zambales

ZAMBALES: The organization of resort owners aimed to make the coastal waters here the safest destination for local and foreign beach goers.

Dubbed as “Drown-Free Zambales”, the project aimed to boost the trainings of the province’s lifeguards to prioritize aquatic safety. The program was initiated by the Zambales Resort Owners Association.
