SAN NARCISO, Zambales: The Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) called on Central Luzon residents to grab the opportunity to have a promising career as an officer of the Navy, Coast Guard or any private shipping line by taking its 2012 entrance exam on September 29.
“The exam is open to all Filipino citizens aged 16 to 22 years old by June 2013 who are single; at least 160 centimeters or 5 ft. and 3 inches tall for males and 155 centimeters or 5 ft. and 1 inch tall for females; at least a high school graduate or graduating from high school by April next year with at least an average academic performance and background in Trigonometry; of good moral character; and physically and mentally fit for active merchant marine or naval service, ” PMMA President Commodore Richard Ritual said,
Those who are interested and qualified are advised to submit personally or by mail a fully accomplished application form along with a copy of an authenticated birth certificate; three copies of recent 2X2 colored pictures with name tag, front view and white background; two pieces self-addressed long white mailing envelopes with P30 worth of mailing stamps per envelope and examination fee of P350 to the Committee on Admissions of PMMA on or before August 31.
Ritual said, “This year’s entrance exam consists of English, High school Mathematics (Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry), Science (General Science, Chemistry and Physics) and Abstract Reasoning.”
The examinations will be held simultaneously in 37 venues across the archipelago including PMMA Complex in San Narciso, Zambales; Aurora State College of Technology; Marcelo H. Del Pilar National High School in Malolos City, Bulacan; Pampanga High School and Tarlac National High School-Main.
