Supporters of Kapatiran Party organize “Project Lugaw” for local candidates

election 2010 thumbIn an effort to inch their way closer to victory this coming election, supporters of local candidates belonging to Ang Kapatiran Party has organized a fund raising activity to augment financial constrain of their candidates.

In an interview with Jonathan de Castro, who is running for councilor in Olongapo City, he said that friends and supporters of Ang Kapatiran organized the fund raising activity dubbed as “Project Lugaw.”

“Were actually right now on the process of selling tickets for the fund raising program for local candidates of Ang Kapatiran party which is scheduled on April 10, 2010 at the house of our presidential candidate JC delos Reyes located at 127b Argonaut Highway West Kalayaan, SBFZ.” De Castro added.

A bowl of  “Lugaw” will cost P210.00 each.

“Lugaw reflects the present state of the Philippines ” naghihihrap” that is why we decided to cook lugaw for the fund raising activity, dahil ang lugaw ay pagkaing mahirap ” de Castro said.

De Castro explained that the fund raising activity was conceptualize by their group “the candidates” at first but did not push through. Eventually “tinuloy din ni Madam Dunia delos Reyes (wife of JC delos Reyes) together with Ronald Tan and other friends.” He added.

He added that the idea is that they will not be keeping the money for themselves, instead, the organizers will be the one who will keep the money, and they will be the one to decide what to do with it (money).

“Sila ang gagastos nung pera, halimbawa pangpagawa ng tarpaulin or flyers, etc, for us” de Castro said.

Although de Castro admitted that the target of 100 tickets to be sold which would total to P21,000 is not enough for the whole campaign but said that it would be a big help for their campaign which will formally start on March 26.

Aside from de Castro, Samuel Matias who has earned the nickname “tubig” for his opposition against water rate increase implemented by SubicWater is also running under the Ang Kapatiran Party.
