To the dogs

The Point is

Election season sparks everything, it make big bucks for company engaged in advertising, creates temporary job for our residents, start word war III, this is also the time when politiko’s spend plenty of money, literally.

Ride a jeep and see the huge billboards, tarpaulin, banners and poster around the city, where is the “Bawal mag kalat sa olongapo” slogan when you need it.

You’ll be surprise that when you go out of the city to nearby towns and provinces you wont see this kind of billboards, tarpaulin, posters etc, its only here in Olongapo. Well, you might see some in Subic town but it isn’t that close but the rest are nada.

The gifts, the dole outs, the campaign materials, free food when you come to their sorties, the free medical and dental, groceries, the small pocket calendar and of course the promises, promises and promises, you name it they got it, oh and don’t forget the cellphone.

If you’re lucky enough maybe you’ll get a free printed t-shirt with the candidate’s picture and name at the back too.

Im not so good in math but ill try to give you a rough estimate on how much this guys are spending on the billboards alone, this does not include the dole outs.

This is only a safe estimate, so here we go, the huge billboard in my estimate cost around six to seven thousand (P6,000.00 to P7,000.00) each. This does not include the wood frame that cost around another three to four thousand (P3,000.00 to P4,000.00) each.

Now lets count how many billboard we see, count all the public elementary and highschool (around 12 or 10 to make it safe), then one per barangay hall (17). Now lets count the “strategic” location, lets play it safe and make it ten (10). Are you still with me?

Im having a headache here, these has no labor coast yet ok, if my calculator is correct these alone cost around P407,000 with out electricity because some of this billboards have halogen light so that voters can see their “BIYUTIPUL” faces at night.

Remember this are only the huge billboards we are talking about, these does not include the small tarpaulins, posters, dole outs, t-shirt, free food during sorties, grocery handouts, cash if there is any.

My brain will simply hang if I compute this so let’s leave this alone for the moment and let’s just stick to the rough computation I made for the billboards.

Did I mention that this billboards does not abide by the regulations of COMELEC? So hello to them.

The Point is…. I just hope the freebies would be there even if its not election season. Well, exclude the cellphone, this is kinda expensive.

Ill leave the billboards for you to think about.

This is also the time when candidate practice their respective sweet talk “the o promise me type” meanwhile, they have dogs ready to bark at anyone who stand in the way of their masters victory.

bullshitI wish the election was tomorrow, so the dogs will all go home and say “my job is done.” My master is happy and then go back to reality.

We in SubicTimes.com is having our fair share of the barking but hey, if the dogs are barking it mean that we are making our presence felt.

Bark all you want, you dogs.

Dogs are breed for their specific behavior and usefulness.

Don’t get me wrong, im a dog lover myself, I have a two lovable Pitbull (Piston and Amber), a Rot named Girl and Banjo an American bulldog who died due to a heat stroke. I miss that guy.

Just to give you guys an idea, a watch dog for instance only bark when they see some stranger infiltrating their master’s territory, a hunting dog on the other hand only bark when they find their prey but sometimes they don’t, they just point.

They aren’t even in the category of an attack dog or a guard dog, I think this type of dogs only attack when they are told to by their handlers.

These dogs working for politicians are a new breed; they just bark, bark and bark then bark again.

These kind of dogs are breed from greed, money, corruption, hate, survival and fear. They have to bark in order to survive. These are the feature of these political dogs.

Sa salitang kanto “parang asong ulol na tahol ng tahol, umaalulung pa,” nakakatakot.

They are more like a half breed Bulldog and Shitzu, you all know what I mean.

But just like a dog who age faster than humans, these political dogs will die after election.

The point is…. These dogs can bark all they want, until they die.

Just remember, unlike you political dogs who bark and bark and bark and bark, some other dogs don’t bark they just bite. So, cge tahol pa.
