Hotel owners lead beach clean up drive


Some 300 individual from the private sector and government employees from the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority held a clean up drive along the shore of Subic Bay early morning Saturday.

Organized by the Lighthouse Marina Resort together with  Moon Bay Marina and SBMA, the clean up drive aimed to educate stakeholders the concern to keep Subic Bay clean.

The clean up drive came after the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority held a 2 day Water Summit to tackle issue concerning one of Subic valuable asset-Subic Bay.

“This clean up drive is very timely, yesterday we just finished the 1st Subic Bay Water Summit that tackled issues concerning one of our valuable asset here in Subic, Subic Bay.”Ameth Koval, Head of the SBMA Ecology Center said.

“We (SBMA) are very much thankful to everybody who woke up early and came here and allotted your time this morning to help in our effort to clean the shores of Subic Bay,” She added.

Among those who participated in the clean up drive were  employees from the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, Subic Bay Chamber of Commerce, Subic Coastal development Co., People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) Subic Park Hotel, Mondrian Aura College, Pista sa Barrio, Regional Science High School, Brent International School, Subic Enerzone, Greater Subic Tourism Bureau, Vista Marina Resort, SBMA Human Resource, Subic Bayfront Hotel and the SBMA Public Relations Department.

Ms. Philippine Water 2008 Marian Michelle Oblea together with former candidates of Ms. Earth also joined the clean up drive.
