Bus coop holds strike versus Hanjin
Some 50 bus operators, drivers and conductor, transporting workers to and from Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction Phils. Inc., held a transport strike Saturday to denounce what they call unfair practice of the Korean ship building giant.
The Zambales Operators Drivers Cooperative Association (Zamodca) said that Hanjin allegedly canceled half of its 50 mini bus operations. They added that Hanjin allegedly hired their rival service, which they think was bias, this prompted the transport strike Saturday.
Roque Abogado, a board member of the cooperative explained that their members were severely affected by the cancellation of operation.
“Pamamasada lang ang alam ng karamihan sa miyembro naming na pawang mga taga Zambales, Syempre pag walang pasada wala ring pambili ng pagkain,” Abogado told www.subictimes.com.
Ernesto Ebelane, general manager of ZAMODCA added that Hanjin management “replaced our services with those Korean-backed bus firms.”
ZAMODCA has been servicing Hanjin for two years. “Masama pa ang kalsada nuon pero namasada kami ng walang angal” he added.
Just recently Hanjin management began inspecting ZAMODCA mini bus for its road worthiness.
“If they found little things like broken windows, missing belts or damaged upholstery, those buses would not be allowed to operate… even if these things could be repaired or replaced immediately,” Ebilane added.
www.subictimes.com tried but failed to get the side of Hanjin officials.

If those missing windows, broken belts and etchetera can easily be replace eh bakit di ninyo gawin kaagad. Gusto lang ninyo kita, kaya ang baba baba ng quality ng transportation dyan dahil sa inyo, mga bulok na bus. Kung ako ang Hanjin management tanggal ang mga walang mudong bus driver jan.
I agree. Mababa ang service level standard ng ZAMODCA. if Hanjin chose another company, you have no one to blame but your coop.
