Brgy. East Bajac Bajac grabs award for Gapo

The local government of Olongapo City announced Thursday that one of its barangay won the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Award for the highly urbanized cities category.

Cited for the award was Barangay East Bajc Bajac headed by barangay captain Filipina Tablan.

The lupong tagapamayapa is a function of the barangay were dispute between residents within the barangay are settled.

Barangay Chairwoman Tablan together with her lupon members received the citation from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office at Maimpis, San Fernendo Pampanga recently.

Olongapo City Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. commended the achievement of Brgy. East Bajac-Bajac.

“Nananalo ang mga barangay natin, it’s getting to be a good habit. Last time ay ang Brgy. Baretto na naging Hall of Famer pa sumunod ang East Tapinac at ngayon ay ang Brgy. East Bajac-Bajac na sana ay maging Hall of Famer rin sa buong bansa,” Mayor Bong Gordon said.

“Ito pong natanggap naming ay hindi lang para sa Brgy. East Bajac-Bajac kundi parangal para sa lahat ng Olongapeno.  Pinasasalamatan ko si Mayor Bong Gordon at ang iba pang opisyales ng lungsod at ang Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG),” said  Brgy. Captain Tablan. “Tayo ang panlaban ng Region III sa buong Pilipinas, sana ay ipanalangin ninyo na manalo tayo,” she also added.

For winning the regional level, Brgy. East Bajac-Bajac advanced to the National Level representing the entire Region III.

Barangay Sta. Rita has also been inducted to the Lupong Tagapamayapa Hall of Fame.
