Running for: Mayor, Olongapo City
Political Party: LAKAS-Kampi CMD
Philippine Postal Bank chairman Vicente Magsaysay’s quick response, care and dedication for his constituents are legendary.
Zambaleños recount that in one barangay fiesta, a village chairman asked his help to repair a barangay road.
And it was.
As a child growing up in Sta. Maria, Castillejos, work, service and love for the people are three things got drilled into his
consciousness by his uncle, President Ramon Magsaysay.
After taking up BS Commerce in Colegio San Juan de Letran, he opted to work in a family business in Agusan. In a span of several years, he rose through the ranks, from shop supervisor to road construction leader all the way to operations manager. Taking the company international, Magsaysay expanded their construction business to Indonesia.
By 1967, he became the youngest elected governor in the country at the age of 27. The people of Olongapo played a pivotal role in his historic win, delivering more than 8,000 votes.
Magsaysay dislikes red tape. In the tradition of Pres. Ramon Magsaysay, he requires immediate actions to the needs of the people. This quick action policy earned nickname ‘Andar’ or quick to act.
Another monicker that stuck with him is ‘Batang Barangay’ because almost everyone can call him up and seek his audience. Both his quick action and ease with anyone who seeks his help endeared him to the people of Olongapo City and Zambales.
‘I never forgot how the people of Olongapo helped me in 1967. Now, I hope they will allow me to return the favor by serving them as I have served the nation and our province,’ GoVic explains in his sorties.
‘Every Olongapeño who want a title to a lot they in the city should have a property title. No exceptions. This is a gift that the working parents will pass on to their children,’ he says, adding that he wants to help create more jobs and business by making the city a part of the Freeport.
‘Lahat dapat makinabang sa pag-unlad. Lahat pantay-pantay.
And he is not one who allows corruption in government. Between 2004 to 2009, the city government incurred P2.5 billion debt to the National Power Corporation (NPC) even though the people of Olongapeno paid their power bills religiously.
‘These are hard earned money by working mothers and fathers. Where did the money go?’ Magsaysay asks incumbent city officials. He vows to wipe out the debt and go after those who stole the money.
Team Magsaysay is our team, it is Olongapo’s team!
Governor Vicente Magsaysay’s biography.

If we read the whole profile and other journal pertaining to Vicente Magsaysay it was a tremendous and applauded one.
One thing I’ve noticed and in my reading of all news about GoVic together with my conversation with my friends in Zambales. I was shocked by then because of all negatives issues that connected to this man.
First and foremost laging nakakabit ang pangit na imahe nung si Magsaysay ay Gobernador pa lamang, nariyan kung tawagin syay Drug Lord…Land grabber and so on… tanong ano ang magiging bentahe nya sa Olongapo para iboto sya? ibibigay nya ang titulo ng mga lupa sa tao – Ginoong magsaysay mag isip-isp kayo. Sa kalusugan nga wala kayo nagawa… Ilang taon kayong nanilbihan?
A man of action with a very good track record as Governor of Zambales. Please support my Tito Govic for a cleaner and better Olongapo. Dios ti Agngina apo!
let’s give him one term and see if he can change the whole system..
well in the first place where our electric payments gone? why do we have 1.7 billion pesos na utang in the napocor..yung mga pulis na hanep mangikil, utang ng mga gamit ng ospital? what our beloved mayor gordon been busied of? doing his ALBUM? kahihiyan… hintayin na lang natin mag total blackout na lang ang bayan natin, tapos hintayin na lang natin na yung mga walang titulo nating bahay na kunin sa atin..not to mention selling the olongapo city mall kay henry sy na sila mismo nagpatayo…TIME FOR A CHANGE may next election pa naman kung sakaling di natin sya magustuhan db?
