2 SBMA police officer shot dead by former bodyguard of Mangudadato’s
Two police officers from the Law Enforcement Department of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority died Monday afternoon after being shot allegedly by a former bodyguard of Buluan Vice Mayor Datu Ismael “Toto” Mangudadatu.
A www.subictimes.com source identified the victims as Cerifino Abadia and a certain Sgt. Orinez who both died at the James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital due to gun shot wounds.
Olongapo City Police Office Dir. PSSupt. Oscar Albayelde identified the suspect as a certain Ali Mohamedin Panegas, 39 and is a resident of Poblacion, Buluan, Maguindanao.
SubicTime sources said that the incident happened around 4:45 at bldg. 657, inside the office of the Law Enforcement Department.
Sources added that the suspect was brought to the Law Enforcement Department for questioning for allegedly extorting money from yards of second hand vehicles inside the Subic Bay Freeport.
The source added that Panegas was a former Special Action Forces member and was allegedly a former bodyguard of Vice Mayor Datu Ismael “Toto” Mangudadatu who lost several relatives together with some 30 journalists in the recent Maguindanao Massacre .
