SUBIC BAY Freeport: Local politics took a turn around Monday after the Magsaysay clan including majority of the mayors in the province of Zambales pledge their support for former Public Works Secretary Hermohenes Ebdane, who after begging of from the presidential race opted to run for Governor of Zambales.

In a meeting held at the golden dragon restaurant, Monday, former Zambales Governor Vicente Magsaysay announced that after talking to her daughter Rose Magsaysay who also filed her candidacy as governor of Zambales and Ebdane, her daughter popularly known in the province as “Lumag” decided to withdraw her candidacy and instead support Ebdane for the post.
“My daughter (Rose) ‘Lumag’ Magsaysay has already withdrawn her candidacy for governor of Zambales,” Magsaysay announced to the members of the Mayors league of Zambales headed by San Marcelino Mayor Jose Rodriguez.
“And with this we (Magsaysay’s) will be supporting Jun Ebdane,” he added.
Lumag, said that she is a newbie compared to the experience of Ebdane and that they (Magsaysay) has all agreed to support the candidacy of Ebdane.
The new development in the political arena of Zambales has narrowed down the candidates to two strong opponents, Ebdane and incumbent Governor Amor Deloso. Two other unknown candidates also filed certificate of candidacy for governor namely Myrna Flordelisa Español of the Alpha Omega 9K Party, and Hilary Dantes Pangan of Ang Kapatiran Party.
Overkill
Ebdane said that the support of the Magsaysay is crucial to his campaign.
“To date the Magsaysay is the most powerful clan in Zambales,” He added.
“In any contest, you go for the overkill to ensure victory,” Ebdane said.
Ebdane meanwhile distance himself from issues thrown against him by Governor Delso saying that he should first serve Zambales for two year before aspiring to become governor or get an electoral post in the province.
“I have been serving since I saw light,” Ebdane asserted. “And I’ve been in the field,” that’s all I can say, I respect him,” he explained.
Zambales 1st district Milagritos Magsaysay who was not shy in lashing back at Deloso said that “In my district, (Deloso) did almost nothing. He did not help me with any infrastructure project there,” she added.
On the other hand, she said that most of the recent public works projects in Zambales have been completed with the support of Ebdane, who was then secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways.
Describing Ebdane as “a technical guy, who is detailed and thorough,” Magsaysay predicted that they would have a fruitful working relationship once elected.
She also explained that the Magsaysay clan’s political machinery in Zambales will now work for their new ally.
“Along with the goodwill we have built among the grassroots, our political organization will be transferred to Sec. Ebdane. He can use it for himself,” she said.
Deloso has yet to comment on the recent developments.
Meanwhile, Eight of the 13 incumbent municipal mayors, also pledged their support to Ebdane that same night, and singed a resolution endorsing Ebdane as candidate for Zambales governor.
Jose Rodriguez of San Marcelino town, Romeo Lonzanida of San Antonio, Peter Lim of San Narciso, Edilberto Abille of San Felipe, Roger Yap of Botolan, Jessu Edora of Masinloc, Jean Moraña of Candelaria, and Luisito Marty of Sta. Cruz all were present during the announcement and singed the 3 other resolutions during the meeting.
During the Mayor’s League meeting, the mayors also signed separate resolutions appreciating Rose Magsaysay’s “sacrifice” in withdrawing from the race, endorsing Mitos Magsaysay for another term in the Congress, and endorsing former Gov. Magsaysay’s mayoralty bid in Olongapo City.
Ask who will be his running mate as vice governor Ebdane said that “We are still in negotiation mode and maybe will be finish by the end of the week.” with John Bayarong

I am an OFW here in KSA, when I took my vacation last October 2008 I saw the boom up of Subic Zambales through the effort of Jeff Khonghun & Mitos Magsaysay I didnt see or heard that Deloso made an any single infrastructures project in our town Subic! while Ebdane supports a lot of Mitos project. My fellow Subikenos Go for Khonghun Ebdane & Mitos 1 team good team for Subic City!!!!!

Celine look @ Zambaleles way back 3yrs almost 100% of our nat’l road are pave and asphalted, courtesy project of magsaysay’s and through the effort of Ebdane. But take a look what is happening now came worst! Most especially from Botolan to Iba. That’s why Let’s go for Ebdane well experience not only serving for people of Zambales but in whole contry.

Nothin bro… But I understand maybe he felt afraid to reminisce he’s worst night mare in Muntinlupa, thats why He now squeezing nor budgeting his funds in Zambales.
I think if we believe so much with the magsaysay’s and their new ally, they shouldn’t be advertising too much na if we believe in what they do. Such a waste of good money lang….
While if the other ones are “non performing” government officials, then let’s scrap them na lang on our list….important thing is everyone should be voting for what they believe in di ba…let’s not name people – paninira lang yan….do what is right for us…it’s time that Zambales to rise up again!

everybody can say whos the best for them. maybe because they did something good for them.but lets see the real picture.who did a lot of things for zambales and the people of zambales? is it deloso or magsaysay? all politicians just want to serve their own interest so we should do the same as constituent. we use them for our own benefit because they should be the one servbing us. ebdane got the money from serving as secretary of DPWH. Ebdane and Puno got 7 billion every year as member of the road board, that means he got a lot of money he can use to develop zambales lets take advantage of that. Magsaysay? yung mga mayor ag endorse kay mitos magsaysay? eh puro mayor sa kabilang district, pwera isa, maliit na bayan pa. eh ano kung 100 na mayor ang nag endorse sa kanya, kung hindi naman taga district niya? ayaw a ayaw na siya ng mga taga first district. kasi naman kahiyahiya siya. spokesperson pa ng kandidato ng administrasyon. kasing trapo lang niya si vic magsaysay. at ano naman ang sakripisyo ni lumag? eh hindi naman siya mananalo kay deloso. so wala naman nawala sa kanya. baka binayaran pa siya ni ebdane para umatras.
Saan ba sa Zambales nakatira tong si Ebdane,is he a real Zambaleno,,or just move to Zambales to seek a governatorial seat..

Walang hidden agenda lahat dapat transparent,magkaroon ng mga programa sa mga kabataan para di maluluong sa mga pinagbabawal na gamot at mga masamang gawain. Magkaroon ng Farm to Market road para sa mga kababayan nating malay sa kabihasnan. DAPAT WALANG PALAKASAN LAHAT PANTAY-PANTAY!!!!
